Overview
Alliant International University was founded in 2001 through the combination of United States International University (USIU) and Alliant University/California School of Professional Psychology. AIU offers a chance to learn from a globally oriented faculty and to study with fellow students from more than fifty-eight countries. The University's mission is to educate citizens of the world, ensuring the acquisition of knowledge and competencies that are essential to live, lead, and solve problems in a global society.

Alliant International alumni have successful careers internationally and domestically with financial institutions, government agencies, multinational corporations, export companies, not-for-profit groups, educational institutions, professional psychology, practice, and entrepreneurial enterprises. Their employers include Sachy & Sachy; Solaronics; Synex International; Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital; public school districts; state, local, and federal government; and the California Psychological Association.

The Location and Community
Alliant International University has nine locations-Fresno; Irvine; Los Angeles; Sacramento; two in San Diego; the San Francisco Bay Area campus, including administrative headquarters; and Mexico City, Mexico.

Programs of Study and Degree Requirements
Alliant International University (AIU) offers graduate programs in psychology, business, organizational studies, education, and arts and sciences. Flexible scheduling allows students to take classes either full- or part-time in the evenings and on weekends. Prospective students should note that not all programs are offered at all locations. Alliant International University offers graduate studies through its five colleges.

The California School of Organizational Studies (CSOS) offers master's programs in industrial/organizational psychology (M.A. and M.S.), organizational behavior (M.A.O.B. and M.S.O.B.), and organizational psychology (M.A.O.P.). CSOS offers doctoral programs in consulting psychology (Ph.D.), industrial/organizational psychology (Ph.D. and Psy.D.), organizational consulting (Psy.D.); organizational development (Psy.D.), and organizational psychology (Ph.D.).

The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) offers master's programs in clinical psychopharmacology (M.S.); counseling psychology (M.A.); and marital and family therapy (M.A.). CSPP offers doctoral programs in clinical psychology (Ph.D. and Psy.D.) and marital and family therapy (Psy.D.). There is also a dual doctorate program in industrial/organizational psychology and clinical psychology (Ph.D.).

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) offers a multicultural emphasis in its master's program in international relations (M.A.). Perennially ranked in the top three nationally in its percentage of international students, the college stresses understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity, societal interdependence, and global perspectives. Its culturally diverse faculty, working in uniquely rich, multicultural classrooms, is committed to preparing students for leadership. In addition, CAS offers a forensic psychology program (Ph.D. and Psy.D.), which provides interdisciplinary study of law, and psychology, criminal/civil justice, and mental health.

The Graduate School of Education (GSOE) offers master's degrees, including the M.A. in education with the following concentrations: educational administration, school psychology, teaching (online and on-site), and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Doctoral studies lead to Ed.D. degrees with an emphasis in cross-cultural studies, educational leadership and management, higher education, and TESOL, or a Psy.D. degree can be obtained in the area of educational psychology. There are also credential nondegree programs in teaching, preliminary administrative services, and the Pupil Personnel Services Credential in school psychology. Certificate programs in a variety of educational areas of study are available as well.

The United States International College of Business (USICB) offers the unique dynamics of a truly international faculty, student body, alumni, and curriculum. USICB provides its students with a wide range of knowledge, skills, and problem-solving abilities to successfully manage businesses in a changing international environment. Master's programs lead to the degree of M.B.A., M.I.B.A., or M.S. Doctoral programs lead to the Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) degree with concentrations in strategic management and international business, specializing in finance or marketing. In addition, the M.B.A. in sustainable management is offered through Presidio World College, an affiliate of Alliant International University.

Facilities & Resources
Alliant International offers excellent research facilities throughout the system. The libraries of AIU maintain a diverse available collection of more than 160,000 books, 1,150 current print journal subscriptions, twelve electronic database subscriptions, approximately 995 psychological test titles, 1,700 audiotapes, and more than 1,200 videotapes. Each campus library is a resource for a variety of research topics and works in cooperation with several other four-year institutions in the immediate area. Each academic school or college has research clusters, labs, and/or other resources to support original scholarly and applied research.

Expenses and Aid
Tuition usually ranges from $510 to $960 per unit, depending on the program. Graduate students usually take three 4-unit courses per quarter.

Financial Aid:
Financial aid is available to graduate students in the form of long-term, low-interest loans (Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Student Loans, and Federal Supplemental Loans for Students) and part-time employment (Federal Work-Study Program). Research assistantships are also available. Financial aid usually carries from one campus location to another, except for the Federal Work-Study Program. For complete information, students should contact the Financial Aid Office on the San Diego campus.

Housing/Living Expenses:
Room and board on the San Diego campus cost $9650 for the academic year for a private room and $7430 for double occupancy. On-campus housing is not available at the Mexico campus.

How to Apply / Application
First-year and transfer applicants may be admitted year-round. Later applications are processed as quickly as possible on a space-available basis. The completed application form, application fees, and supporting documents should be on file in the Office of Admissions at least thirty days prior to the term for which the applicant desires admission. These items should be sent to the Office of Admissions.

International Students
Alliant takes pride in fostering multiculturalism and diversity on our campuses. International graduate students must fulfill the same admission requirements as domestic graduate students. Those international graduate students who studied in universities outside the United States must provide additional documents regarding post-secondary education.

Any applicant who has not been residing in the US or an English-speaking country since the age of thirteen must submit results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) from the Educational Testing Service (ETS), even if the applicant is now a United States citizen or permanent resident. Applicants taking the TOEFL examination should score at least 600 on the written or 250 on the computerized exam. Alliant's TOEFL code is 4128. The Center for Undergraduate Education and the Division of Business in the California School of Business and Organizational Studies both require a written TOEFL score of 550 for masters and 575 for doctoral applicants.
