Founded in 1917, Bentley College is an independent, coeducational institution recognized internationally for its excellence in professional business education. Bentley's focus on business, people and technology plays to the college's longtime strengths while also breaking significant new ground to groom graduate students for the technology-driven nature of business today. As the largest graduate school of business in the New England region with over 1,800 students, Bentley is further positioned to offer more programs, more courses, and more opportunities to develop business specialties than are the rule in graduate business education.

The Community
Bentley's suburban campus is located in Waltham, Massachusetts, a city known for its ethnic restaurants and high-tech business development. Students also have easy access to downtown Boston, just 10 miles west of the college. Attractions of this vibrant, cosmopolitan city include contemporary theatre, international art exhibits, museums, nightclubs, ballet and symphony performances, diverse cuisine, and designer retail shops. The area's championship sports teams include the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and New England Revolution.

Programs of study and degree requirements
The Bentley College Graduate School of Business offers a Full-Time Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Self-Paced MBA. with 15 concentrations, and Master of Science programs in Accountancy (MSA), Accounting Information Systems (MSAIS), Business Economics (MSBE), Computer Information Systems (MSCIS), Finance (MSF), Personal Financial Planning (MSPFP) and Taxation (MST).

With full advanced standing credit or an appropriate undergraduate business background, students in the Self-Paced MBA and MS programs can complete their degree with as few as ten courses in one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study. The Full-Time MBA is a two-year program which provides an integrated view of the entire enterprise while developing key managerial skills to create competitive advantage in today's information age. The Self-Paced MBA provides a strong foundation in business concepts as well as the analytical and practical techniques crucial to management and allows students to draw on previous business knowledge to customize their curriculum through a flexible format.

Bentley's MS programs in business prepare students to be experts in a specific discipline. Compared to the MBA programs, these specialized degrees in accountancy, accounting information systems, business economics, computer information systems, finance, personal financial planning and taxation provide greater depth in the area of study and include general business breadth in the curriculum. They allow students to focus and develop a comprehensive understanding of the theory and tools critical to each discipline, enabling graduates to make valuable corporate and professional contributions.

Facilities & Resources
Bentley brings a real-world approach to the educational process. Internships, service learning activities and group consulting projects are available to students and provide them with the practical training necessary to promote career development.

In addition, Bentley is committed to continually upgrade its technological resources to ensure that graduate students understand how business processes can be enhanced through the strategic application of information technology. It is one of only six academic institutions in the nation to have an on-site financial Trading Room, a multi-million dollar facility that simulates actual stock exchange experience and serves as a practical vehicle for learning across a range of academic disciplines. The CIS CASE Lab is a key resource supporting object-oriented development, database development, groupware applications using Lotus Notes and web-based applications. The Accounting Center for Electronic Learning and Business Measurement (ACELAB) enriches the study of accounting and accounting information systems by providing hands-on experience with the same state-of-the-art computerized tools and technologies that professionals employ in various accounting, auditing and assurance service functions.

Other technological resources used in academic training include use of the campus intranet, the Graduate Computer Learning Center and Solomon Baker Library, which features research databases such as Dow Jones New Retrieval, InfoTrac, LEXIS/NEXIS and Bloomberg Financial Resources. Construction is also underway on a $20 million academic technology center, slated to open in 2000 and designed to serve as the locus for business and information technology initiatives at Bentley.
