Iona College
Hagan School of Business
New Rochelle, New York

Overview
Founded in 1940, Iona is a private coeducational institution with a total enrollment of 6,100 students in both day and evening classes. The Hagan School of Business was instituted in 1965.

There are approximately 400 students enrolled in the M.B.A. program; 85 percent are part-time students.

The Location and Community
The main campus is located in New Rochelle, a suburban community in Westchester County, near the northern perimeter of New York City. All degree programs are offered on this site. A branch campus is located in Rockland County. Major highways and public transportation connect both campuses with the cultural and business centers of the Greater New York metropolitan area.

Programs of Study and Degree Requirements
The Hagan School of Business offers classes leading to the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree and to the Post Master's Certificate (P.M.C.) in business administration.

The programs are designed to meet the needs of both full-time and part-time students and are organized on a trimester basis during the academic year, September to May. Two summer sessions are also available in June and July.

The goal of the M.B.A. program is to prepare students for management careers in business and other organizations. Effective managers must know themselves, work in teams, lead organizational change, and understand the macro factors affecting the future. They must also appreciate the role of information technology, ethically and socially responsible decision making, and the globalization of business. The School's concentrations in financial management, human resource management, information and decision technology management, management, and marketing provide solid knowledge in a specific functional area of business. Required course work consists of 27 credits in the core curriculum and 30 credits in the major and related fields. Waivers are possible out of the core curriculum if certain criteria are met. Students must complete at least 33 credits of graduate work at Iona. The M.B.A. program is offered at the main campus at New Rochelle and at a branch campus in Pearl River, New York. The program also offers certificate options in international business and e-commerce, which can be completed concurrently with the M.B.A. curriculum.

The Post Master's Certificate in business administration is designed to meet specific individual professional needs at the post-M.B.A. level through a program of advanced courses in one of the major fields or international business and e-commerce. A minimum of 15 credits is required to earn the New York State-approved certificate.
