Programs of Study and Degree Requirements
MBA Programs
The College of William and Mary offers the MBA degree in three formats: full-time, evening, and executive. The integrated MBA curriculum reflects the complexities of the business world, where everyday problems are not separated into academic disciplines.

Full-Time MBA Program
In the full-time MBA program, the first year provides a thorough grounding in management theory and practice. Second year MBA candidates return from internships having mastered the fundamentals and to pursue specialized study in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Information Technology, Operations, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, or General Management.

The program emphasizes teamwork. Through live case studies, students analyze trends as they develop in the business world. Students and faculty participate together in examining the complexities of alternative scenarios. This immersion in teamwork and collaboration prepares William and Mary MBAs to develop comprehensive business solutions in the classroom and the real world.

Joint degree programs that combine the MBA with Law (MBA/JD) or Public Policy (MBA/MPP) are offered to full-time MBA students in cooperation with William and Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law and the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy. These programs require separate application and acceptance to both graduate schools.

Evening MBA Program
Working professionals may pursue the Evening MBA program in the centrally located Peninsula Center in Newport News, Virginia. The facility offers state-of-the-art classroom technology and is convenient to students from Richmond to Virginia Beach. Evening students may also take elective courses on the main campus in Williamsburg.

Executive MBA Program
The Executive MBA program, designed for mid-career professionals, meets on alternate Fridays and Saturdays with four residency periods over 20 months. The program is housed on the main campus in Williamsburg, with a Northern Virginia program expected to begin in January 2003.

Facilities and Resources
Unique to the William and Mary School of Business is the Senior Executive Resource Corps (SERC), a network of experienced executives who represent senior level expertise in 22 different industries. The members of this volunteer group serve as mentors to William and Mary MBAs and share their considerable business acumen as real-world resources. SERC members collaborate with faculty to advise student teams during the Field Studies consulting projects conducted by second year full-time MBA students. The Field Studies program requires students to apply the knowledge and skills gained from the first year and internship experiences in identifying, researching, and proposing solutions for real business problems faced by national and regional clients.

A modern graduate housing complex designed specifically for graduate students offers two-, three-, or four-bedroom apartments within walking distance to the School of Business Administration. Early applications for on-campus housing are encouraged. Students living off-campus can choose from a variety of privately managed living options in Williamsburg, or commute from neighboring cities.

Expenses and Aid
William and Mary provides exceptional academic programs with comparatively low tuition and fees; our programs offer a compelling return on investment. Full-time MBA students will find some resources through scholarships, loans, and graduate assistantships. Scholarship and graduate assistantship awards are based solely on merit. Loan eligibility is based on need.

The total annual full-time, in-state student tuition and fees for 2004-2005 are $11,978; out-of-state and international student tuition and fees are $24,258. Other budget items include: room and board, $9,330; computer and software $3,500; miscellaneous, $3,000; books and supplies, $1,000.

Evening MBA tuition and fees for 2004-2005 are $356 per credit hour (in-state) and $720 per credit hour (out-of-state), up to 8 credit hours per semester.

How to Apply
The full-time and evening MBA programs are small by design; the effectiveness of these programs depends upon the relationships developed within student teams and those forged between students and faculty. While some MBA candidates enter the program with business-related degrees or experience, many students enter from an array of different academic and professional disciplines. Admission decisions are based upon the applicant’s academic record, professional experience, GMAT scores, recommendations, interview, essays and other indicators of aptitude for graduate study in business. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at http://business.wm.edu/mba.

Admission to the full-time MBA program is granted for the fall term only. There are three formal application review periods, followed by a rolling admission process. Admission to the evening MBA program is offered for both the fall and spring semesters on a rolling basis.
